Mokume-Gane is a mixed metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns, first used in Japan in the 17th century to decorate sword fittings.
It was later used by artisans to create purely decorative items.
Modern processes allow the technique to include titanium, platinum, gold, bronze, brass, nickel and silver finishes.
This technique requires a highly skilled smith with much experience.
Michael uses ethical eco-friendly manufacturing practices using re-cycled gold and conflict free, fair-trade diamonds and rough diamonds certified in accordance with the Kimberley Process - an International Agreement supported by the UN.
